  1.                                                                                  Taffy                                                                            2 cups Sugar                  Combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and cream of  1/2 cup  Light Corn Syrup       tarter.  Place over heat, stir until sugar      1/2 cup  Water                  dissolves.  Cook without stirring to hard ball  1/4 tsp  Cream of Tarter        stage. (265 F) Remove from heat, add vanilla.     1 tsp  Vanilla                Pour on buttered platter.  When cool enough to                                  handle, pull until taffy is snow white and                                      porous.  Twist into ropes and cut with scissors.                                                                                                                Makes 2 dozen pieces.                                                                                                           Flavored Taffy                                                                                                                                                  Add 1 tsp flavoring with Vanilla.  You can also add food coloring with Vanilla.
